Forward deployed engineers for banks and financial services
Industries / Financial services
Forward deployed engineers for banks work inside your team. They sit with your model risk team, your security reviewers and the staff who will use the system, then ship it. You tell us who you need, and we send people who fit.
- No deposit to get started
- Every requirement read by us
- A best-fit shortlist, not a pile of CVs
- One agreement, one invoice
Why banks and fintechs use FDEs
Approval is part of the build not a step after it
In financial services, much of every AI project is evidence. Validators need model documentation. Recordkeeping rules need logs. Every new vendor in the path needs a security review. Teams that leave this for later end up rebuilding.
A forward deployed engineer builds the evidence as they go. They meet the validators early and agree what a passing package looks like. Then they ship a system that operations staff use and risk teams can sign off.
Tell us the role and the hours. We send you a shortlist of people who fit.

What FDEs fix
Work a financial services FDE owns end to end
- Operations and back office automation Reconciliation breaks, KYC refresh, trade support and payment exceptions. These queues mix structured and unstructured inputs. An LLM can sort them, with a person approving each action.
- Analyst and adviser copilots Search across research, filings and internal policy for analysts or advisers. Sources are cited, access is set by desk or role, and logging fits supervision rules.
- Model documentation and monitoring Model inventory entries, validation packages, and drift and performance monitoring. Plus the dashboards a second line team asks for before it approves production use.
- Data platform plumbing Bringing core banking, card, market data and CRM sources into one governed place, with lineage. Every model and report downstream then starts from data people trust.
Hiring forward deployed engineers for banks with us
- 01
Tell us the system and its reviewers
Name the system and the business owner. List the control owners it must satisfy: model risk, information security, compliance, or all of them. Sending a requirement is free.
- 02
We read it and ask
We read every requirement ourselves. If something is unclear, such as which data classes are in play, we ask. Then we look through the senior people who have applied to us, and our own contacts.
- 03
A shortlist with CVs
Each person comes with a CV and a short note on why they fit. If your security team needs background checks or a questionnaire, say so in your requirement.
- 04
You choose, then pay when they start
Talk to whoever you like. You do not have to hire anyone. Our fee is due only when someone starts, on one agreement and one invoice.
Financial services rules to plan around
Which of these apply depends on your charter and business lines. Your compliance and risk teams decide. The engineer builds so they can.
| Rule | What it means for the build |
|---|---|
| Model risk management guidance | The Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC have revised their model risk guidance, replacing the earlier guidance. Models used in decisions need inventory, validation and ongoing monitoring sized to their risk. |
| GLBA Safeguards Rule | Financial institutions under FTC jurisdiction need a written information security programme. It includes access controls, encryption and multi-factor authentication for customer information. New AI systems sit inside that programme. |
| FINRA rules for broker-dealers | A FINRA notice says its rules apply to generative AI as they do to any other technology, even when the AI comes from a third party. Firms still need a reasonably designed supervisory system. |
| EU AI Act (EU customers) | AI used to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals is listed as high risk. That brings duties on documentation, data governance, logging and human oversight. |
Consultancy vs a forward deployed engineer
Strategy consultancy
- Strong at frameworks, operating models and roadmaps
- Delivery often handed to a separate offshore team
- Billing tied to phases and documents
- Leaves when the deck is accepted
Forward deployed engineer
- Writes the code and the validation evidence together
- Works in your repos and your review meetings
- You pay our fee only when they start
- Gets the system live, then hands it over

FAQ
Questions people ask
Can the engineer work under our vendor risk process?
Yes. Plan for security questionnaires, background checks and access approvals before they start. Put these in your requirement, and we look for people who can meet them.
Will they help with model validation?
They produce what validators need: model purpose and limits, data sources, test results, monitoring plans and change logs. Independent validation stays with your second line, as it should.
Can the engineer use external LLM APIs with our data?
Only within the policies you set. A common start is masked or synthetic data, a private deployment, or a provider security has already approved. The engineer designs for your limits, not around them.
Is this only for banks?
No. Fintechs, payments companies, lenders, asset managers and broker-dealers all fit. The rules differ, so name the ones that apply in your requirement.
